RSVP and Travel Arrangements

It is essential that you meet your initial faculty advisor, or a designated substitute faculty member if you wish to be nominated for a fellowship.

If you are interested in attending the open house, you will need to make your own travel arrangements. For travel costs, please note that:

  • The UCLA Graduate Division has resources available for the cost of travel to help support campus visits by the most highly recruited students, but this funding is not guaranteed. Please see below for details on the Graduate Division Standards for Travel Reimbursements.
  • In select cases of the most highly recruited students, a faculty from EE department will offer you guaranteed travel assistance from the Department itself. This would be in the form of up to $50 for Southern California students, up to $250 for California students, and up to $500 for students from outside California. You would need to provide original receipts for transportation, hotel, and meal expenses, and this guaranteed travel assistance offer cannot be combined with reimbursement from Graduate Division.
  • Please direct any inquiries to Ms. Deeona Columbia, Director, Office of Student Affairs (phone: 310-825-7574).
  • We also ask that you R.S.V.P. for this event by Email.

Graduate Division Standards for Travel Reimbursements

Reimbursements are limited to the cost of travel (i.e., airplane fare, mileage at 36 cents per mile, etc.). Housing, meals, and other related expenses will not be covered. The funding is restricted to domestic students (US citizens or permanent residents) and domestic travel costs. The Graduate Division may reimburse up to $500 for out-of-state students and up to $250 for in-state students. Preference will be given to funding the visits of doctoral students, but some funding for masters students may also be available. Reimbursements through the Graduate Division are not guaranteed.

Please save all your original receipts to enable us to submit your travel expense claim.
