Electrical Engineering Distinguished Alumni Speaker Series

Speaker: Jonathan Arenberg, Chief Engineer, James Webb Space Telescope
Affiliation: Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems

Dr. Jonathan Arenberg (’83, MS ’85, PhD ’87) is currently the Chief Engineer for the James Webb Space Telescope at Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems. His work experience includes optical, space and laser systems and work on astronomical programs such as the Chandra X-Ray Observatory. He also helped develop the New Worlds Observer concept for the imaging of extra-solar planets. Dr. Arenberg received a BS in physics and an MS and PhD in engineering from UCLA and is a Regents and an Edward K. Dickson scholar. He holds 13 U.S. and foreign patents and is a SPIE Fellow and member of Eta Kappa Nu.
