Abstract
In this talk, the profile of Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) will
be introduced, including its history, location, faculty, students,
teaching, research and international collaboration. Then the profile of
the School of Information and Electronics (SIE) at BIT will be
discussed, and the research highlights of the SIE of BIT will be
presented, including the embedded real-time digital signal processing,
radar systems and signal processing, remote sensing and information
processing, satellite navigation technology, microwave and millimeter
wave circuits, computational electro-magnetics, speech and video
compression, etc.
Biography
Dr. Teng Long received the B.Sc. degree in electronic engineering from
University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), Hefei, China, in
1989, and the M. Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from
Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), Beijing, China, in 1991 and 1995,
respectively.
From January 1999 to August 1999, he was a Visiting Associate Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Stanford University, Stanford, CA. From March 2002 to September 2002, he was a Visiting Scholar with the Department of Electric Engineering, London University, London, England. Since September 2000, he has been a Full Professor with the Department of Electronic Engineering and the Director of the Institute of Radar Technology, Beijing Institute of Technology, Beijing, China. He is currently the Dean of the School of Information and Electronics, Beijing Institute of Technology. He is also the Chairman of the Beijing Society of Radar, Vice-Chairman of the Chinese Society of Signal Processing, and a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Institute of the United Kingdom.
