Biography

Nhan Levan obtained his M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the University of New South Wales, Australia, in 1962. In 1966 he received his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Monash University, Australia. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Stanford University in 1966, and joined the faculty of the Electrical Engineering Department in 1967. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE.

Professor Levan's research interests are in control systems, especially stability and stabilizability and errors in dynamic systems; he also investigates signals analysis and the theory and application of wavelets.

He received the ASEE Western Electric Fund Award for Excellence in Engineering Education (1979), the UCLA Engineering Alumni Association Distinguished Faculty Award (1973), and the UCLA Distinguished Teaching Award (1972).

Research Interests

Professor Levan's research interests are in control systems, especially stability and stabilizability and errors in dynamic systems; he also investigates signals analysis and the theory and application of wavelets.
