Professor Henry Samueli has been awarded the prestigious 2010 UCLA Medal. The Medal is awarded to individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to their profession, to higher education, to society and to the university. Previous medal recipients include former Presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter; United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon; planetary physicist Carl Sagan; and others. Dr. Samueli received all his three degrees, B.S., M.S., and Ph.D., in Electrical Engineering at UCLA where he also serves as a faculty member in EE and co-chairs the HSSEAS Dean's Advisory Council. His other recognitions include election to the National Academy of Engineering in 2003. He is also a co-founder of Broadcom, which is one of the World's leading semiconductor companies in the area of communications circuits.
