The Broadcom Fellowship Names The First Five
The
Broadcom Foundation has endowed a new Fellowship in
circuit/system designs to UCLA’s
Electrical Engineering Department. Every
year up to five PhD students with an innovative research on new
possibilities
in the state-of-the-art 22-nm CMOS technology will be awarded
with the Broadcom
Fellowship. Selected proposals must have
a compelling impact when realized in the state-of-the-art
foundry CMOS which
enable a system that otherwise would not have been possible.
Chaired by Distinguished Professor Asad Abidi, the Broadcom Fellowship Selection Committee had a rigorous selection of the first cohort from a pool of 14 proposals. The worthy recipients of the Broadcom Fellowships are:

Fellowship Selection Committee are
Professors Alan Willson, Tatsuo Itoh, Jason Woo and Ken Yang. The Broadcom Foundation has been an active
partner of the Electrical Engineering Department in education
such as the
recent Broadcom Speaker Series with Broadcom’s top technology
executives and
which was culminated by the Chief Technical Officer, Professor
Henry
Samueli. Now, Broadcom and the
Electrical Engineering Department break new ground in research
elevating the
