Post-Doctoral Researchers
- The candidate must have a Ph.D. and be appointed at 100%.

- International scholars must have valid work authorization.
- The following forms are needed:

- Statement of Objective
- Copy of Ph.D. diploma
- Evidence of Ph.D. completion
Visiting Scholars
- The candidate must have a Ph.D. and be appointed at 100%.
- The Visiting Scholar Appointment Form is needed.

Research Engineers
Assistant Research Engineers
This action requires the Dean's approval.
- Supporting memo from the PI addressed to the Dean, via the Chairman. (see sample letter below).

- Complete the Academic Biography form.
- CV and bibliography listing books, book chapters, journal papers, and proceedings or conference papers separately.
- Account authorization form with account numbers and beginning & ending dates. Obtain the form from Rachelle Reamkitkarn in the Office of Human Resources.
Associate Research Engineer & Research Engineer
This action requires the Dean's approval.

- Account authorization form with account numbers and beginning & ending dates. Obtain the form from Rachelle Reamkitkarn in the Office of Human Resources.
- A list of 7 or more of reviewing authorities for solicitation letters.
- PI's list of nominees for Council Academic Personnel (CAP) Chancellor's approval.
- A list of UCLA faculty who have co-authored with the candidate.
