Projects

Running Biomechanics, Current
Creating a system which can monitor the motion of the running human body.

9 Degrees of Freedom Inertial Measurement Unit, Current
Design and build a compact board to house an accelerometer, a gyroscope, and a magnetometer. Program an open source GUI, similar to the Arduino platform, to simplify programming and ease of adoption.

Lowering System Energy Usage through Interval Wireless Data Transfer, 2011
Matlab logoMatlab GUI Files PDF logoReport
Derived a new metric to determine the energy expenditure of a wireless chip when interval data transfer was utilized. Found conclusive evidence that periodic transfer of data wirelessly instead of continuous streaming can yield energy savings. Built GUI to simplify energy analysis of custom wireless chips for manufacturers and engineers.

Simultaneous Wireless Recharge and Data Transfer, 2011
Design and build an isolated board which can: identify a device via RFID tag, begin inductive charging, and simultaneously capture data via Bluetooth.

Fully-Differential High-Speed High-Precision Amplifier, 2010
Designed and simulated two Fully-Differential High-Speed High-Precision Amplifiers. One aimed at minimizing settling time given a set power budget and the second aimed at minimizing power for a given settling time.

CLB for FPGA, 2010
Used Cadence tools to design, simulate, and layout a configurable logic block for a field-programmable gate array.

Formula Hybrid Car Project, 2009-2010
Electronics Team Lead to a multidisciplinary team of engineers responsible for the design and build of a hybrid race car. Placed second in the Hybrid-In-Progress category.
