I am an electrical engineer, specializing in Micro-Electromechanical Systems, who works for the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. I am also working towards my PhD at UCLA. I received my BSEE in 1994 and my MSEE in 1996, both from UCLA. My research is focused in a couple of areas. I am developing a resonant mechanical magnetic sensor made in a standard CMOS process. Also, I am characterizing a new thick film called SU-8 which has the potential to simplify micro-molding technology. At JPL I work at the Micro Devices Laboratory and am in the LIGA group working on many projects utilizing thick films as well as traditional LIGA.

My Name

Since everyone I've ever met has asked about my name, I thought it useful to put this explanation in here. The name 'Beverley' is a man's name as well as a woman's name in Britain. My father's family came from the town of Beverly in the district of Hull north of London. When we crossed the Atlantic and settled in New York we took to naming the oldest son after the town we came from.
