I am a Senior Technology Strategist at UCLA Institute for Technology Advancement (ITA) and a Research Program Manager at UCLA Wireless Health Institute (WHI).

At ITA my role is to create and manage large multidisciplinary programs, assist in defining the application and scope for UCLA technology. identify key government and industrial collaborators, suport technology incubation with consequent technology transfer and commercialization. The area of my work at ITA has been Information Technology in general, with recent focus in Secure Medical Data Management.

At WHI I am leading several programs with research interests that lie in the development of novel intelligent algorithms with emphasis on state of the art machine learning techniques, embedded systems and large scale architectures in support of secure medical informatics. The most recent application of these technologies and the breakthrough has been in the emerging field of Wireless Health and biomedical systems in general. My work specifically focuses on a first of its kind combination of the state of the art fundamental research (in networked embedded computing, signal processing and sensor fusion) with direct application and impact on actual patient populations in tight collaboration with colleagues from the UCLA School of Medicine.
