Biography

Martin was born and raised in Silkeborg, Denmark. He became enamored with computers at an early age when his father brought home a Commodore SX-64 in 1986. After completing high school in 1999, he served as a First Lieutenant in the Royal Danish Army for two years before fully committing himself to the study of electrical engineering. During his studies at Aalborg University, he also spent one semester abroad at the University of Miami. This sojourn to the States was all too brief, so after graduating with an MSEE in 2006, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue his doctorate at UCLA.

When he's not working on interior-point methods, Martin enjoys hiking, playing football using his feet and a real ball (in the mathematical sense), traveling, photography and eating ice cream.
