Areas of Research Interest
Communication systems
and information theory, with applications to
wireless sensor networks and other autonomous systems.
My students are presently pursuing systems research on a variety of projects
related to wireless sensor networks. In particular, students are researching a
variety of tasks related to understanding fundamental information theoretical
limits, and energy-efficient design of sensor nodes and systems. Students will
typically develop algorithms and perform analysis and simulations, and often
also interact with other graduate and undergraduate students performing the
hardware implementation. This may also include design of experiments to gather
the necessary data on the physical situation.
