Yen-Ju Lin & Ping King Lu from Prof. Jarrahi’s grp awarded Gov’t Scholarship from Taiwan Ministry of Education.

Yen-Ju Lin and Ping King Lu from Prof. Jarrahi’s research group have been awarded a Government Scholarship for Study Abroad from Taiwan Ministry of Education.

This competitive $30,000 scholarship is awarded by Taiwan Ministry of Education to Taiwanese citizens with exceptional academic record, research potentials and capabilities, and significant achievements in their fields.

Yen-Ju received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from National Taiwan University. For her doctoral research, Yen-Ju is working on a novel terahertz spectroscopy system, which utilizes the unprecedented functionalities of terahertz waves for biological studies. Her research and academic accomplishments have been recognized with numerous distinguished awards including the National Taiwan University Presidential Award and Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship.

Ping-Keng received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the National Chiao Tung University. For his doctoral research, Ping Keng is exploring a new class of plasmonic photoconductive nanostructures incorporating graphene for high-power terahertz wave generation. Ping Keng has received several prestigious awards for his outstanding accomplishments, including the Academic Achievement Award from the National Chiao Tung University and the Chinese American Engineers and Scientist Association of Southern California Scholarship.
