Biography
Lei He is an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles. He received his Ph.D. degree in computer science from UCLA in 1999. Prior to joining the UCLA Electrical Engineering Department faculty in 2002, he was an Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. . Professor He was honored by a 1999-2000 Outstanding PhD Award from UCLA, and was a recipient of the National Science Foundation CAREER award on "interconnect-centric layout design with consideration of inductance" in 2000. In 2003 he was honored with the UCLA Chancellor's Facutly Development Award, as well as the IBM Faculty Award. In 2005, he was a recipient of Northrop Grumman Excellence in Teaching Award. In 2006, he received the Best Paper Award in the ACM/IEEE International Symposium on Physical Design. He is a member of the IEEE and ACM.

Research Interests
Professor He's research and teaching interests focus on computer-aided design of VLSI circuits and systems, interconnect modeling and design, power-efficient computer architectures and systems, programmable logic devices, circuits and systems in nano technologies, and numerical and combinatorial optimization.
