Abstract:  The research and development perspective from a global home appliance company operating in more than 130 countries, employing more than 30000 people in 26 countries, and production in 20 facilities worldwide in seven countries will be presented. How the company innovates in today’s digital age, with customer insights driven approach and an open innovation environment. Arçelik’s R&D aim is to design and manufacture products, which respect the environment and support consumer comfort, meeting their current and future needs.

Speaker Profile 1

Dr. Natasha Conway is the R&D Manager at Beko’s R&D Centre in Cambridge, UK, part of parent company, Arcelik’s global R&D structure. Beko R&D’s aim is collaborate with UK companies and universities, to identify and develop pioneering technologies for next generation of products. Natasha received a BEng degree in Engineering and Physics at Glasgow University before completing her PhD at the University of Cambridge. She has a strong track record in research and development with over 20 years’ experience.

Dr. Bekir Özyurt is Sensor Technologies R&D Manager at Arcelik A.Ş. Central R&D in Istanbul, Turkey. Arçelik is a Leading Player in Global Home-Appliances Industry.  His main responsibilities cover companies Sensor Based innovations, including sensor applications, sensor data Science and Sensor design projects. Completed his PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Istanbul Technical University at 2011. He has been with Arcelik for 19 years, working at different positions at R&D centers.
