Tools for Automation in Emerging Applications in Optical Sciences

Speaker: David Steinberg and Zachary Penrod
Affiliation: Aerotech, Inc.

An Industry Seminar hosted by OSA/SPIE Student Chapter

AEROTECH, Inc.

Abstract:  Since 1970, Aerotech has designed and manufactured the highest performance motion control, positioning tables/stages, and positioning systems.  We provide the critical performance for applications such as medical device and life sciences, semiconductor and flat panel, photonics, automotive, data storage, laser processing, military/aerospace, electronics manufacturing, test, assembly, research and development, and other markets requiring high precision, high throughput motion solutions.  In this talk, we will focus on the role of motion control in optics and photonics applications. The outline is as follows:

  • Overview of Motion Control and Automation
  • Overview of Aerotech
  • High-Level Presentation on Photonics, Semiconductor: Maximizing Optical Alignment

Following the seminar, will be an interactive session for further discussion and Q & A.
