Abstract: Since 1970, Aerotech has designed and manufactured the highest performance motion control, positioning tables/stages, and positioning systems. We provide the critical performance for applications such as medical device and life sciences, semiconductor and flat panel, photonics, automotive, data storage, laser processing, military/aerospace, electronics manufacturing, test, assembly, research and development, and other markets requiring high precision, high throughput motion solutions. In this talk, we will focus on the role of motion control in optics and photonics applications. The outline is as follows:
- Overview of Motion Control and Automation
- Overview of Aerotech
- High-Level Presentation on Photonics, Semiconductor: Maximizing Optical Alignment
Following the seminar, will be an interactive session for further discussion and Q & A.
Biographies:
David Steinberg is a Senior Sales & Applications Engineer at Aerotech, Inc. He is based in Southern California and is responsible for supporting Educational Institutions and Government Laboratories in the Western U.S. He received his B.S. in Ceramic Engineering from Rutgers College of Engineering in Piscataway, NJ. David has worked for over 25 years in scientific and industrial motion control. Some application areas include Photonics, Synchrotron Light Sources, Additive Manufacturing, Semiconductor Test Equipment, Microscopy, Astronomy, Aerospace, Data Storage, and Spectroscopy.
Zachary Penrod is the Business Development Manager focusing on relationships research within Educational Institutions as well as the problems they seek to overcome. He is based at the Aerotech factory in Pittsburgh, PA and received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University. Zach has carried many titles throughout the automotive and automation industries including design, development, strategy, sourcing, production, sales and marketing. His main goal is to better understand the needs and desires of the students, researchers, and faculty of the world’s universities as we move together into the age of automation.
