The iPal™ Robot – Description, Demonstration, and Discussion of use Cases

Speaker: John S. Ostrem, Ph.D.
Affiliation: CEO, AvatarMind

Abstract:  Our focus from the beginning was to create a fully functional humanoid robot that is affordable for ordinary families, not just institutions.  Other robots with our capability cost $8-10K or more (such as Pepper), while our retail price will be in the range $1500-2000.  More details are given at www.ipalrobot.com

Currently, we are in full scale manufacturing, have released a product in China, and are working towards US consumer products for the end of the year.  However, we are already delivering a developer/platform version of iPal to “early adopters.”  Use cases include elder care, retail, and hospital, children with special needs.
