Toyota is seeking PhD students in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering in the area of cloud/edge computing and vehicular communications technologies.
Objective:
• Research on hybrid vehicular micro clouds
• Implementation of scalable distributed computing and storage solutions
• Evaluation of the systems implemented on our vehicle testbed platform by combining physical and virtual nodes
Required Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing PhD in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
• Knowledge and research experience in edge computing • Proficient programming skills in Python
• Experience with network programming • Knowledge in web application developments
• Excellent knowledge on networking and Linux commands
Preferred Qualifications:
• Hands on experience in web application deployment (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• Proficiency in a back-end implementation language (e.g., Java, Python)
• Hands on experience in network simulations
• Hands on experience in public cloud computing services (e.g., AWS, Azure, etc.)
• Publication records in distributed computing is a plus
