Prof. Emaminejad’s Lab’s (I²BL) paper is on the cover of Advanced Functional Materials

The full research paper led by Xuanbing Cheng, Dr. Bo Wang, and Yichao Zhao from Professor Emaminejad’s Interconnected and Integrated Bioelectronics Lab (I²BL) is featured on the cover of the most recent issue of the Advanced Functional Materials journal. In this paper, they report the fundamental challenges of conventional mediator‐based wearable enzymatic sensors, and devise an alternative mediator‐free wearable electroenzymatic sensing methodology. This methodology was adapted to developed sensors targeting metabolites and nutrients (e.g., glucose, lactate, and choline) in sweat, where the experimental results demonstrated the sensors’ high degrees of sensitivity, selectivity, and stability.
