Prof. Jonathan Kao awarded Director’s New Innovator Award from the National Institutes of Health.

Prof. Jonathan Kao, from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, been awarded a Director’s New Innovator Award from the National Institutes of Health. The NIH announced the award, which includes a five-year, $2.34 million grant to support Kao’s research on accelerating the development of technologies for brain-machine interfaces, which could help people who are paralyzed regain a sense of control and independence.  The story was recently published in the UCLA Samueli Newsroom.
