Upcoming SDSC Summer Institutes in ML, HPC and DS – Apr 23rd Deadline

SDSC’s Cyberinfrastructure-Enabled Machine Learning (CIML) Summer Institute

June 18, 2021: Preparation Day
June 22 – 24, 2021: Summer Institute
This event will be held virtually.
Application deadline: Friday, April 23, 2021

The San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC) Cyberinfrastructure-Enabled Machine Learning (CIML) project is focused on teaching researchers and students the best-known practices for effectively running machine learning (ML) and data science applications on advanced cyberinfrastructure and high-performance computing (HPC) systems.

This year’s CIML Summer Institute will involve introducing ML researchers, developers and educators to the techniques and methods needed to migrate their ML applications from smaller, locally run resources, such as laptops and workstations, to large-scale HPC systems, such as the SDSC Expanse supercomputer. Participants will have the opportunity to accelerate their learning process through highly interactive classes with hands-on tutorials on Expanse

SDSC’s Annual High-Performance Computing and Data Science Summer Institute

July 28, 2021: Preparation Day
August 2 – 6, 2021: Summer Institute

This event will be held virtually.
Application deadline: Sunday, May 2, 2021

Join us this year for a Virtual Summer Institute! This annual week-long workshop focuses on a broad spectrum of introductory-to-intermediate topics in High-Performance Computing (HPC) and Data Science. The Institute welcomes researchers from academia and industry, especially in domains not traditionally engaged in supercomputing, or who have problems that cannot typically be solved using local computing resources. This year’s Summer Institute continues SDSC’s strategy of bringing HPC to the ”long tail of science”, i.e. providing resources to a larger number of modest-sized computational research projects that represent, in aggregate, a tremendous amount of scientific research and discovery.   The program offers highly interactive classes with hands-on tutorials on SDSC’s newest supercomputer system, Expanse
