IEEE-HKN Asad, Gowhartaj, and Jamal Madni Scholarship
Distinguished Adjunct Professor Asad M Madni, Taj and Jamal Madni established an HKN Scholarship Award which will benefit IEEE-HKN members. The IEEE-HKN Madni Family Scholarship is awarded to HKN students who show exceptional scholarship, service to their communities, and a commitment to HKN. Each year, up to 3 qualified undergraduate students and up to two qualified graduate students may be chosen as recipients of this prestigious scholarship. The amount of the scholarship is $1,000 and may be used to help offset school expenses such as tuition, books, and student fees. The annual selection of scholarship recipients will be administered by IEEE-HKN.

Research by Professors Mona Jarrahi and Aydogan Ozcan published in Nature Photonics
Research published in Nature Photonics and led by electrical and computer engineering Professors Mona Jarrahi and Aydogan Ozcan, details a breakthrough terahertz imaging system that provides for the first time real-time, 3D multi-spectral images. The other authors are Xurong Li, Deniz Mengu, Nezih Yardimci, Deniz Turan, and Ali Charkhesht.

Congratulations to Distinguished Chancellor’s Professor Asad Abidi on being awarded the 2022 JSSC Best Paper Award for his paper entitled “A Harmonic-Mixing PLL Architecture for Millimeter-Wave Application”. The award will be given to him at ISSCC 2024 in February in San Francisco.
