Hughes Research Laboratory (HRL) Graduate Fellowship

On behalf of HRL, the UCLA Electrical and Computer Engineering Department (ECE) is pleased to be receiving applications for this HRL Graduate Fellowship. The fellowship awards up to $25,000 towards tuition for 2 academic quarters starting in the Winter Quarter of 2019-2020 school year. The fellowship also includes a summer internship opportunity at HRL in the Summer of 2020.

The deadline to submit your application is Friday, November 8, 2019 @ 11:59pm. Fellowship recipients will be announced in December 2019.

Applicant Requirements:

The applicant must meet the following requirements:

1. Student must be accepted or currently enrolled in the UCLA Electrical and Computer Engineering Department M.S. Program. 2. Student must be a U.S. Citizen or green card holder. 3. Applicant must be interested in one or more of the following specializations: integrated circuit design, heterogeneous integration, photonics/electro-optics, machine learning/artificial intelligence, autonomous navigation, trusted/assured autonomy. 4. Student must be willing to consider an opportunity to join HRL as a paid summer intern in the Summer of 2020.

Application Material Requirements:

The application shall not exceed three single-space pages in legible font, including all figures, tables, and charts. It should contain the following: 1. The applicant’s current resume or curriculum vitae. 2. A short essay that includes a description of your qualifications, interest in one or more of the above specialization topics, and your specific interest in participating in a Summer internship at HRL. 3. Submit application as one .pdf document.

All applications will be reviewed by the UCLA ECE Department, and HRL personnel. HRL will make the final selection.
